Sometimes I feel like the luckiest person.

Working in the country around Asheville & being blessed to share time with an endless stream of fascinating and decent people is more than one could ask.
Most of the places that take my breath away come because of real estate; I help with transitions that involve land and other real property. A challenge is to create images that show features and that help in making good decisions. Those photographs and maps are found with each property we represent; this photo-diary is for the other pictures.
Unless one is guided by wonderment and beauty, the photos here are visual frivolity, pure and as simple as each destination reveals. The intent is to share visual sketches of the special places.

This page is for the little treats, the indulgences.

It's an invitation to join us. And to enjoy.

Mushroom foraging is a great excuse to get outside and to explore.

There are numerous edible varieties; our mountains are a superb for mushrooms and for foragers.

The following photos follow a day out from hiking into the forest (I've agreed to keep exact location secret - because that's the way mushroom people roll) through serving a late breakfast the next day of toast with eggs and chanterelles.

Days out like this make living in the mountains special; sharing days like this with friends make it magical.
